World War I

We will complete our study of World War I on November 12th. Students will have an exam on that day. On Thursday and Friday we will be watching the movie The Lost Batallion. This is an excellent movie that was shown on the Discovery Channel.

World War I

We have just finished studying the Gilded Age and Progressive Era. On Wednesday October 22 we will begin a unit on World War I. We will study the causes (MAIN) and effects of the Treaty of Versailles.

We are studying westward expansion and industrialization. People went west to escape the cities then moved to the cities from European countries. Important information for this unit:

1. Homestead Act
2. Railroad Act
3. How did railroads aid in expansion of the U.S.
4. What is a monopoly and what is a trust?
5. What is vertical and horizontal integration?
